What each product is actually built for
AstroSage is built as a calculation portal with a very wide surface. It wants to be the place that has the tool, whatever the tool is — Lāl Kitāb, KP sub-lords, Varsha chart, Muntha, Sahams, matching, panchang, a marketplace of astrologers, and a large free chart generator underneath it all. Breadth is the strategy, and breadth is genuinely useful when you know what you are looking for.
Parasara Jyotish is built as a reading engine with a narrow surface. There is one method — Parāśara houses and daśās woven with Jaimini chara karakas, arudha padas and rāśi dṛṣṭi — and every screen is an application of it. There is no Lāl Kitāb module and no KP module, deliberately, because mixing systems inside one verdict produces an average rather than an answer.
That difference explains almost every row in the table below. A portal optimises for “does it have it”. A reading engine optimises for “does it conclude anything”.

AstroSage genuinely leads on breadth of calculation systems and on language coverage. We do not dispute those rows and would not try to.

- You want a classical Tājika varṣaphala with Sahams and Muddā daśā.

- You need an Indian language we have not shipped yet.
Choose Parasara Jyotish when
- You want the chart read, not tabulated — a verdict with the reasoning shown.
- You want Nārāyaṇa, Sudāśā or Dṛg daśā, which very few free tools compute at all.
- You want to ask a specific question — “when will I marry”, “job or business” — and have it answered from your chart.
- You want the BPHS rules that your chart actually satisfies, quoted as effects rather than summarised.
- You want one method applied consistently instead of five systems averaged together.
The real gap: tables versus conclusions
Open any large free kundli report and you will find the same structure — a page of placements, a page per planet, a page of daśā dates, and a paragraph of generic text under each. Every paragraph is written as though its placement were the only thing in the chart. Saturn in the 7th gets its stock paragraph whether or not Jupiter aspects it, whether or not the 7th lord is exalted, whether or not the Upapada says something else entirely.
That is not a flaw in AstroSage specifically — it is the structural limit of per-placement text. Chart-wide synthesis cannot be pre-written, because the number of combinations is unbounded. It has to be computed at read time, with an explicit hierarchy deciding which signal outranks which.
Our engine applies that hierarchy openly: lordship outranks occupancy, occupancy outranks aspect, graha dṛṣṭi outranks rāśi dṛṣṭi, and a rare combination carries more weight than a common one. When two signals contradict, the page says so instead of quietly averaging them into a hedge. You may disagree with a verdict — but you can see exactly which placements produced it.

The verdict
AstroSage is the better encyclopaedia. It has more systems, more languages and more tables, and if your work spans KP, Lāl Kitāb and Tājika you will keep it bookmarked regardless of what we build.
Parasara Jyotish is the better reader. It computes less and concludes more — one tradition, applied with a stated hierarchy, ending in an answer you can argue with. If what frustrates you about free kundli sites is that you leave with data and no judgement, that is the gap this was built to close.

The birth chart, all sixteen divisional charts, the daśā timelines, yoga detection and the daily, monthly and yearly horoscopes are free. The deep life reports and chart-specific Q&A sit behind a one-time premium unlock. There is no per-minute billing anywhere on the site.
Does AstroSage calculate more than Parasara Jyotish?
On systems, yes — AstroSage carries KP, horary, Lāl Kitāb, Ashtakavarga tables and Tājika varṣaphala, none of which we offer. On Parāśara and Jaimini specifically, we go further: Nārāyaṇa, Sudāśā and Dṛg daśā, Vimśottarī from the Lagna as well as the Moon, and a verse-level BPHS scan.
Which one is more accurate?
Both compute from an astronomical ephemeris, so raw positions will agree to within a fraction of a degree given the same ayanāṁśa and the same birth time. Accuracy of a reading is not something either of us can prove to you from a comparison page — judge it against events you already know happened in your own life.
Can I use both?
Many serious students do. Use AstroSage when you want a KP sub-lord table or a Lāl Kitāb chart, and use us when you want the chart weighed and concluded. They are not the same tool.
How we compare, and how to correct us
Every rival feature listed here was checked against that product’s own public pages and free tools on the date shown above. We compare what a visitor can actually see and use without paying — not internal capability, not accuracy of predictions, which no one can measure from outside.
