Why a few minutes changes so much
The ascendant crosses one sign in roughly two hours. That is why the Rāśi chart survives an approximate time and why most people never notice a problem. The divisional charts are where it breaks: each sign is cut into nine for the Navāṁśa, ten for the Daśāṁśa, sixty for the Ṣaṣṭyāṁśa. The finer the division, the faster its Lagna moves.
| Chart | Its Lagna changes every | What rests on it |
|---|---|---|
| Rāśi (D-1) | ~2 hours | Houses, the body, the whole frame of the chart |
| Navāṁśa (D-9) | ~13 minutes | Marriage, the spouse, dharma, the real strength of every graha |
| Daśāṁśa (D-10) | ~12 minutes | Career, authority, professional standing |
| Siddhāṁśa (D-24) | ~5 minutes | Education and scholarship |
| Ṣaṣṭyāṁśa (D-60) | ~2 minutes | Past-life karma — the division weighted highest of all |
A hospital record to the minute is fine for all of these. “Around sunrise” or “my mother thinks it was after lunch” is fine for the Moon sign and for nothing else.
How a rectification actually works
Rectification runs the astrology backwards. Instead of predicting from a known chart, it asks which chart would have produced the life that already happened.
You give dated events
Marriage, children, bereavements, job changes, accidents, moves — with dates. Six good ones constrain a chart far more than sixty impressions.
Candidate times are swept
The search window is partitioned and a chart cast for each candidate, so no plausible Lagna is skipped and none is favoured before the evidence is in.
Every candidate is tested
For each surviving time the full analysis runs again — daśā and antardaśā at each event date, the divisional charts for that domain, the yogas and the transits.
The chart that explains your life wins
The time kept is the one under which your events are astrologically ordinary rather than a series of coincidences. You get the reasoning, not just a number.
What rectification cannot do
It cannot conjure a time out of nothing. With a whole unknown day to search and one vaguely-remembered event, the honest answer is a range, not a minute — and any service that hands you a confident time on that evidence has produced a number, not a result.
It also cannot correct events you report wrongly. A wedding date given a year out will rectify you to a wrong time very convincingly. The quality of the answer follows the quality of the dates you supply, and it is worth checking them before you start.
A full birth time correction — ₹1750
A partitioned sweep across candidate times, with the full analysis re-run for every candidate that survives, tested against the dated events you supply. One-off price, no subscription. If a run fails it costs you nothing — your entitlement is released and you simply run it again.

Frequently asked questions
What is birth time rectification?
Working backwards from events that have already happened to find the birth time that best explains them. Your recorded time fixes the Lagna and every house cusp; if it is wrong, the houses are wrong, and a reading built on them is confidently wrong. Rectification tests candidate times against dated events in your life — marriage, a job, a bereavement, a move — and keeps the one the chart actually accounts for.
How accurate does a birth time need to be?
It depends what you intend to read. The Moon sign tolerates hours. The Rāśi Lagna moves a full sign roughly every two hours. The Navāṁśa Lagna changes about every thirteen minutes, the Daśāṁśa about every twelve, and the Ṣaṣṭyāṁśa about every two. Any reading of marriage, career or karma rests on those divisions, so 'about ten in the morning' is not good enough for them.
Can you find my birth time if I have no record at all?
Sometimes, and honesty matters here. With several well-dated life events a rectification can usually narrow an unknown time to a workable window, and often to a single Lagna. With one vague event and a whole day to search, it cannot — and a service that promises otherwise is guessing. The more dated events you can supply, the narrower the answer.
What life events work best for rectification?
Events with a hard date and a clear astrological signature. Marriage, the birth of a child, a bereavement in the immediate family, starting or losing a job, a serious accident or surgery, a move to another country. Five or six such events with dates constrain a chart far more tightly than a long list of vague impressions.
How much does a birth time correction cost?
A flat ₹1750, one-off. It costs more than a consultation because it does more work: a partitioned sweep across candidate times, with the full analysis run again for every candidate that survives. There is no subscription, and a failed run releases your entitlement so you can run it again at no further cost.
Is the free check on this page a rectification?
No, and the difference matters. The free check shows how far your chart moves across a one-hour window — it establishes whether you have a problem. It cannot tell you which candidate time is correct, because that requires testing your actual life events against each one. That is the paid service.
Does the ayanamsa affect rectification?
It shifts every sign boundary, so yes — a chart rectified on one ayanāṁśa is not valid on another. Everything here is computed on Lahiri (Citrapakṣa), the standard reference for Parāśara work, and a corrected time from us should be read on the same setting.
Once your time is right, ask an astrologer a question or check your Navāṁśa.
