What matters is that it explains itself, that it reflects your current daśā without you re-running anything, that it answers the specific worry that brought you back this month, and that it is reachable from a phone at midnight.
Neither optimisation is more legitimate. But a professional suite handed to an untrained person yields screens they cannot read, and a native-facing engine handed to a busy professional lacks the layout control they want. Rich reports and weighed verdicts are not the same thing
A professional suite’s report generator is built to describe. It walks the chart, prints what each factor signifies, and leaves the synthesis to the astrologer holding the printout — which is correct, because that astrologer is the one taking responsibility for the reading.
When there is no astrologer in the loop, description is not enough. Someone still has to decide that an exalted 10th lord in the 6th house means a strong career built through conflict and service rather than either “strong career” or “troubled career” on separate pages. If the software will not make that call, an untrained reader will make it badly, usually by remembering whichever paragraph frightened them most.

Do I need paid desktop software to read my own chart?
