1. Who these terms bind
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Parasara Jyotish ("we", "us", "our"), operated from West Bengal, India. They apply to: • The web application at parasara.net • The Parasara Android app published on Google Play By creating an account, casting a chart, or paying us anything, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service. Our Privacy Policy governs what data we collect and what we do with it. These Terms govern everything else — what you may buy, what it grants, and what we owe each other. Where the two documents disagree on a commercial matter, these Terms govern. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with a parent or guardian's permission, and you may pay us only with their consent. They accept these terms alongside you. We do not knowingly serve anyone under 13.
2. What Parasara is — and what it is not
Parasara computes Vedic charts and interprets them by classical rules — chiefly the Bṛhat Parāśara Horā Śāstra, Sārāvalī, Phaladeepikā, and the works of P. V. R. Narasimha Rao. The calculations are astronomy and are precise. The interpretations are jyotiṣa, a traditional discipline, and they are judgements, not measurements. The service is for study and self-reflection. It is not medical, legal, financial, psychological, or any other professional advice, and nothing in it should be treated as such. A reading is not a diagnosis, a prognosis, a legal opinion, or an investment recommendation. Do not delay treatment, sign anything, marry anyone, or move money on the strength of a reading alone. For matters of health, law, money, or your own safety, consult a qualified professional. We do not guarantee that anything a reading says will come to pass.
3. Your account
You sign in with Google. Your Parasara account is tied to that Google account, and your purchases live on it. • Keep your Google credentials safe. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you. • One account is for one person. Do not share it to spread paid access. • Your entitlements follow the account, not the device. The same sign-in restores them on the web and on Android. • If you lose access to the Google account you paid on, email us from an address we can verify against your payment record and we will help where we can. Without a verifiable payment record we cannot move an entitlement.
4. What we sell
A. Bought once, permanent • One Chart — every premium reading on one chart, unlocked for life. Buy it again for another chart. • Premium — the same, on three charts. These grant chart slots that stack: each One Chart purchase adds one slot, each Premium purchase adds three. Slots are credited once per order. They do not lapse, they do not renew, and there is nothing to cancel. B. Bought once, limited in scope or time • Report unlock — one report, on one chart. • PDF export — thirty days of PDF export. • Questions pack — five questions, on any chart, with no plan required. • Consultation — one question, answered against the whole chart. • Birth Time Correction — one rectification, worked from the life events you supply. C. Billed monthly • Unlimited — every chart unlocked, every premium reading, PDF export, for as long as the subscription runs. A subscription rents access. It does not buy it. Only the products in group A unlock a chart for life. Section 6 sets out exactly what happens when a subscription ends. We may add, rename, reprice, or retire products. Retiring a product never withdraws something you already bought outright, and a subscription plan that is withdrawn from sale is still honoured for anyone already on it until they cancel.
5. Prices and how you are charged
A. Regional pricing The price of most products depends on your country, detected from your IP address at checkout. We run three price rungs and we do not add a markup on top of the figure you are shown. The price displayed at checkout is the price charged. B. Who takes the payment • Razorpay — rupee payments, by card, UPI, netbanking, or wallet. • PayPal — dollar payments. On this account Razorpay has no international method, so for most non-Indian cards PayPal is the only till, not an alternative one. • Google Play Billing — anything bought inside the Android app. Your card, UPI, or PayPal credentials are entered with the processor and never reach our servers. We keep the order and payment identifiers, the amount, the currency, and the country. C. Currency conversion Where a plan is billed in rupees to a foreign card, your bank or card network sets the conversion rate and may add its own cross-border fee. We do not receive that fee and cannot refund it. D. Taxes Where GST, VAT, or sales tax applies to your country, it is collected by the payment processor and is included in the figure you are shown. E. Price changes Prices change from time to time. A change never affects something you have already bought outright. For a running subscription, see section 6. F. Failed and stuck payments If a payment fails, no charge stands. If a payment succeeds but the purchase does not activate, email us with the payment identifier and we will verify it against the processor and credit your account by hand.
6. The Unlimited subscription
A. It renews by itself Unlimited is a recurring monthly subscription. It renews automatically, and your chosen processor charges you each billing period, until you cancel. There is no fixed term and no minimum number of periods. B. Cancelling Cancel from Account → Subscription on the web at any time. If you subscribed inside the Android app, cancel through your Google Play subscriptions instead — that is the only place Google will accept it. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Your access runs to that date. We do not refund the unused remainder of a period, and we do not bill you again after it. C. What happens when it ends When the subscription ends — because you cancelled, or because a renewal payment failed — every chart it unlocked locks again. That includes charts you read while you were paying. This is the difference between renting access and buying it, and it is the one thing about this plan people most often get wrong. Charts unlocked by a One Chart or Premium purchase are not affected. Those stay open. We never delete your saved charts because a plan ended. The birth data stays where it is; the readings close. Resubscribe or buy a chart outright and they open again. D. Price changes on a running subscription If we raise the price of Unlimited, a subscription already running keeps the price it started at until it is cancelled. The new price applies to new subscriptions and to a subscription you cancel and later restart.
7. Refunds
Everything we sell is delivered the moment payment succeeds — the readings unlock, the report generates, the question is answered. Purchases are therefore final, and we do not refund a change of mind, a purchase made by accident, or disagreement with what a reading says. We do refund, or put right, these: • A duplicate charge for the same order. • A payment taken where the purchase never activated and we cannot activate it. • A charge for something you did not buy. To claim one, email support@parasara.net from the address on your account with the payment identifier — the Razorpay payment ID, the PayPal transaction ID, or the Google Play order ID. We answer within seven business days. Where a refund is due it goes back by the same route it came, and the processor's own timeline then applies. Purchases made through Google Play are also covered by Google Play's refund policy and are refunded by Google, not by us. Ask Google first for those; we can help if Google declines and the fault was ours. Cancelling a subscription is not a refund. See section 6. Filing a chargeback instead of writing to us costs us the disputed amount plus a fee. We will contest one we believe is unfounded, and we may suspend an account that raises one while the dispute is open.
8. AI-generated readings
Some of what you read is computed by our own engine from classical rules. Some of it — the consultation, the chat, the question answers, parts of the report language — is written by third-party language models from OpenAI and Anthropic working from your chart and your question. You should know three things about that: • Your question text and a digest of your chart are sent to the AI provider to produce the answer. Do not put anything in a question that you would not want handed to a third party. Health, legal exposure, and other people's private affairs deserve particular care. • Language models make mistakes. So does our engine. An answer can be fluent and confident and still wrong. • Section 2 applies in full to anything an AI writes here. It is study material, not professional advice. We reserve the right to limit the volume of AI questions from one account where usage is automated or abusive.
9. Acceptable use
You must not: • Resell, redistribute, syndicate, or publish our readings, reports, or exports as your own product or service. • Scrape the site, automate access to it, or call our endpoints from outside our own apps. • Reverse engineer, tamper with, or circumvent payment, entitlement, or access checks — or use an account, coupon, or receipt you are not entitled to. • Share one account so that several people use paid access. • Post anything unlawful, hateful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or infringing, or harass another user. • Present our output as the personal judgement of a named astrologer, or as endorsed by an institution or lineage that has not endorsed it. Casting a chart for someone else is ordinary jyotiṣa practice and is fine. Using what comes out of it to harass, defame, coerce, or make public claims about an identifiable person is not, and it is your responsibility, not ours. We may remove content, limit an account, or close it where these rules are broken.
10. Your content
Your birth details, your saved charts, your questions, your comments, and your feedback remain yours. You grant us the licence we need to run the service with them — to store them, compute on them, send a question to an AI provider to be answered, sync them between your devices, and display community content you chose to post. That licence lasts as long as you keep the content with us and ends when you delete it, except for backups and records we are required to keep. Feedback and bug reports we may act on freely, without owing you anything for them. You are responsible for having the right to enter someone else's birth details. If they ask you to remove them, remove them.
11. Our content
The classical texts we work from belong to their authors and traditions. Our implementation of them does not: the engine, the rule sets, the wording of the interpretations, the design, and the code are ours and are protected by copyright. A reading you paid for is yours to keep, print, and use personally. That is a licence to use the output, not a licence to the software or the interpretive corpus behind it. Republishing our reports, feeding them into another product, or using them to train a model is not permitted without our written agreement. "Parasara Jyotish" and our logo are our marks. Do not use them to suggest we endorse you.
12. Third-party services
We build on services we do not control: Google Firebase, Google Play, Google Maps, Razorpay, PayPal, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google AdMob for ads shown to free users of the Android app. Their own terms govern their part of the transaction, and their outages are not ours to fix. Where one of them fails in a way that costs you a purchase, tell us and we will do what we can with them on your behalf. What each of them receives, and why, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to the service
We add features, change them, and retire them. Two consequences worth stating plainly: • A computed result can change. We correct ephemeris handling, dignity rules, and interpretation logic as we find errors. A chart you read last year may read differently today, and the new reading is the one we stand behind. • We do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, an upstream outage, or a failure on our side can take the service down without notice. Where a change removes something you paid for outright, we will give notice and set out what you get instead. If we discontinue the service altogether, we will give at least thirty days' notice and keep chart export working through that period.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time, cancel any subscription, and ask us to delete your account. Deletion is covered in the Privacy Policy, including the payment records we are obliged to keep. We may suspend or close an account, with notice where circumstances allow and without it where they do not, for breach of section 9, fraud, chargeback abuse, or unlawful use. An account closed for breach forfeits unused entitlements without refund. Sections 7, 11, and 15 through 18 survive the end of this agreement.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. In particular we make no warranty about: • The accuracy, completeness, or predictive value of any interpretation • The suitability of any reading for a decision you are about to make • Uninterrupted or error-free operation Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties. Where that is so, this section applies to the extent permitted and no further.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost opportunity, or lost data, arising out of your use of the service — including any decision you took because of a reading. Our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of: the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred Indian rupees. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
17. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the service, or your use of its output against another person.
18. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of West Bengal, India have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Write to support@parasara.net before you take anything further. Nearly every payment dispute we have seen was a settings problem or a stuck entitlement that we could fix the same week. If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stand.
19. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Where a change materially affects what you have bought or what you owe, we will announce it by in-app notice or push notification at least seven days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the revised terms.
