Transit Chart by Date of Birth — Your Gochar Over the Natal Moon
A transit chart — gochar — shows where the planets are now and how they move over your birth chart. Read by date of birth, it is judged from your natal Moon, the way Vedic astrology actually reads the sky. Every planet is given a clear quality — favourable, blocked or challenging — by its house from your Moon, refined by its Murthi and any Vedha. The same sky reads differently for each person, because it is read through their own chart.
Enter your birth details once, and the sky is cast for right now at your birth place. You can also set any date, time and place to read the transits behind a past event or ahead of a future plan.
Sade Sati & the Saturn transit
Sade Sati is Saturn's roughly seven-and-a-half-year passage over the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your natal Moon — three phases of about two-and-a-half years each. Because this reading places every planet by its house from your Moon, Saturn's transit there is shown directly: which phase is running, its quality, and its Murthi. The same view covers the Jupiter transit and the other slow movers, whose gochar shapes the long arc of a year far more than the fast planets.
Transits for any date, time and place
Most gochar tools only show the sky right now. This one lets you cast it for any moment. Pick a date and time, choose a place, and the transit chart and the per-planet reading are recomputed for that instant — with the correct timezone resolved for the place and date you choose. Use it to look back at the sky during a turning point, or to scout a favourable window ahead.
What the transit reading shows
| Panel | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Sky score | A single 0–100 read of how the day's transits line up with your chart, with a plain label — strong, mixed or challenging sky. |
| Per-planet quality | Every planet sorted into favourable, blocked or challenging by its house from your natal Moon — not just its position, but what it is doing for you. |
| Murthi (mūrti) | The metal of each transit — Swarna (gold), Rajata (silver), Tāmra (copper) or Loha (iron) — grading how fully the planet's result can land. |
| Vedha (obstruction) | Whether another planet's transit obstructs a benefit, holding part of the result back — a subtlety position-only calculators miss. |
| Transit chart | The Rāśi chart of the sky for your chosen moment and place, in North or South Indian style. |
How the gochar is read — from your Moon
Vedic gochar is counted from the natal Moon (Chandra), the seat of the mind, not from the sun sign. A planet's house from your Moon tells you how its transit actually feels day to day. The reading then refines that with two classical tools: Murthi, which grades the transit by a metal — Swarna (gold) is most fruitful, then Rajata (silver) and Tāmra (copper), with Loha (iron) the hardest — and Vedha, where another transiting planet obstructs a benefic line and holds part of the result back. Together they turn a list of positions into a reading you can act on.
Transit & gochar FAQs
What is a transit chart (gochar) by date of birth?+
Gochar is the ongoing movement of the planets, and a transit chart shows where they sit at a given moment. Read 'by date of birth' it is judged against your own chart — specifically your natal Moon — so the same sky reads differently for each person. This tool gives every planet a favourable, blocked or challenging quality from your Moon, not just its sign.
Can I check transits for any date, not just today?+
Yes. Enter any date, time and place in the 'Cast for any moment' panel and the sky is recomputed for that instant — useful for understanding a past event, or planning around a future window. It defaults to right now at your birth place.
Does it show Sade Sati and the Saturn transit?+
Yes. Sade Sati is Saturn's roughly seven-and-a-half-year passage over the 12th, 1st and 2nd from your natal Moon. Because this tool reads every planet's house from your Moon, Saturn's transit there is shown directly, with its quality and Murthi — so you can see which phase of Sade Sati is running and how it is landing.
Why read transits from the Moon instead of the sun sign?+
Vedic gochar is read from the natal Moon (Chandra). The Moon governs the mind and daily life, so a planet's house counted from your Moon tells you how its transit actually feels — far more than a generic sun-sign forecast.
What are Murthi and Vedha?+
Murthi grades a transit by a metal — Swarna (gold) is the most fruitful, then Rajata (silver) and Tāmra (copper), with Loha (iron) the hardest. Vedha is obstruction: when another transiting planet blocks the line of a benefic result, part of the good is held back. Both refine the plain house reading.
Is it free, and is my birth data private?+
It is completely free, and your chart is computed and kept only in your browser session — nothing is posted or shared.

Transits are computed with the Lahiri ayanāṁśa and read from your natal Moon. Gochar shows the sky's pressure and support; your chart's promise and running daśā decide how strongly it lands.
