Legal astrology — court cases, enemies and dispute timing

In Vedic astrology, legal matters are read from the 6th house — the house of conflicts, litigation and open enemies. The 6th lord's strength relative to your opponent's determines who has the planetary advantage. Mars (assertion and aggression) and Saturn (delayed justice and karma) are the two key planets in any legal fight. The running Vimshottari daśā tells you whether the current period supports a favourable outcome or caution.

The 3 legal questions above are answered from your birth chart — probability of winning, when resolution comes, and periods of hidden opposition.

Legal astrology — common questions

Which house governs court cases and legal matters in astrology?+

The 6th house is the primary house of litigation, disputes, enemies and conflicts. A strong 6th lord in a favourable position can win legal battles; a weak or afflicted 6th lord suggests vulnerability. The 7th house (open opponents) and 12th house (losses, prison, expenditure) also play important roles in legal cases. Mars (aggression, assertion) and Saturn (delays, justice over time) are the key planets for legal matters.

Can astrology predict who will win a court case?+

Vedic astrology — particularly Prashna (horary astrology) — has a long tradition of predicting court case outcomes. The winner is typically indicated by the stronger of the two parties' 6th house lords, the 11th lord (gains and victory), and the current Vimshottari daśā. If your 6th lord is stronger than the opponent's, you are more likely to prevail. Running a daśā of the 6th lord during the case strengthens your position; running the 12th lord (losses) weakens it.

What does astrology say about hidden enemies?+

Hidden enemies are shown by the 12th house (hidden, secretive forces working against you) and its lord. The 6th house shows open enemies. Rāhu in the 6th or 12th house can indicate covert opposition that is difficult to identify. Saturn in difficult houses aspecting the lagna creates obstacles from unseen sources. A daśā of the 12th lord or Rāhu often coincides with periods when hidden opposition is most active.

When will my legal case be resolved?+

Legal resolution typically comes in: daśās of the 11th lord (gains and favourable outcomes), the 6th lord (resolution of disputes), or Jupiter (justice and wisdom). Jupiter transiting the 6th, 11th or lagna from the natal Moon is a strong trigger for legal resolution. The 7th house sub-period can also bring settlement through negotiation. Saturn daśā often means a long case with eventual justice; Rāhu daśā can bring unexpected twists and delays.
