What does the Parents & Family Origin report analyse?

Read your parental karma, relationship with mother and father, and family-of-origin patterns from your Vedic birth chart. The report analyses the 4th house and Moon for the mother, the 9th house and Sun for the father, the Dvadasamsa (D12) for parental destiny, Pitru dosha indicators, and the karaka planets that signal the parents' role in your life story. Includes timing for parental events through relevant dashas.

Enter your birth date, time, and place. The chart is computed instantly using the Lahiri ayanāṁśa and stays in your browser — your data is never shared. The report then reads the specific combinations present in your chart and presents them in plain language, with the classical reasoning behind each one.

Key indicators — what the report reads

The Parents & Family Origin report follows the analytical sequence PVNR uses in his class: primary house, its lord, the natural significator, divisional chart confirmation, and timing through dasha. These are the specific indicators assessed.

IndicatorWhat it reveals
4th house & Moon (mother)The 4th house is the primary bhāva for the mother. Moon is the natural significator of the mother figure and the relationship with her.
9th house & Sun (father)The 9th house represents the father in the Parāśara system. Sun is the natural significator of the father's vitality and presence.
Dvadasamsa (D12)The divisional chart dedicated to parents and ancestry. It shows the parents' destiny as seen from the native's chart.
Pitru doshaSpecific afflictions to the 9th house and Sun — particularly involving Rahu, Ketu, or Saturn — that indicate karmic tension in the paternal lineage.
4th & 9th lords' conditionThe dignity and placement of these lords determine how supportive or challenging the parental relationship is.
Jupiter (4th from D12 Lagna)Jupiter's role in the D12 shows the protective and benevolent dimension of parental influence.
Dasha timingThe dashas of 4th and 9th lords, or their karakas, activate parental events — health crises, separation, reconciliation, passing.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Parents report cover?

It analyses the 4th house and Moon for the mother (her presence, health, and relationship quality), the 9th house and Sun for the father, the Dvadasamsa (D12) for parental destiny seen from the native's chart, Pitru dosha indicators in the 9th house, and the dasha timing of significant parental events.

What is Pitru dosha?

Pitru dosha (also called Pitra dosha) refers to specific afflictions to the 9th house and Sun — particularly involving Rahu, Ketu, or Saturn in the 9th — that classical texts associate with karmic tension in the paternal lineage. In PVNR's framework it does not mean the native is "cursed" — it means there is a specific area of ancestral karma that can be addressed through appropriate remedies.

What is the Dvadasamsa (D12)?

The Dvadasamsa is the twelfth-part divisional chart, dedicated to parents and ancestry. Its Lagna and the condition of the 4th and 9th houses within it show the parents' own destiny as it intersects with the native's life. A strong D12 4th lord indicates a supportive maternal lineage; a strong D12 9th lord a supportive paternal one.

Which karaka represents the mother versus the father?

In the Parāśara system, the Moon is the natural significator (naisargika karaka) of the mother, and the Sun is the natural significator of the father. For house-based analysis, the 4th house governs the mother and the 9th governs the father. The chara karaka system adds the Matrikaraka (for the mother) and Pitrikaraka (for the father) from the seven chara karakas.
