Complaint: a girl two months old with a lot of skin rashes and repeated doctor visits. The root cause is not yet diagnosed.

Why Jupiter daśā gives ill health

Jupiter daśā runs for about five more years. Jupiter is a clear benefic for Scorpio lagna, so the class had to find the affliction.

• Rāśi: the 2nd house is afflicted — Rahu is in it. Jupiter is Rahu's dispositor and gives some of Rahu's results. Sun and Saturn together in Virgo aspect Jupiter in Pisces. Not enough by itself to explain a baby this unwell.
• Suffering is seen in Trimśāṁśa (D30). D30 lagna is Taurus:
  • Jupiter is the 8th and 11th lord — functional malefic. In D30 the planets that matter are the 8th lord, the 6th lord and the bādhaka lord.
  • As 8th lord he gives health trouble through the whole daśā. He is in the 12th house: hospital visits. (Jupiter is in Taurus, the lagna sign; he falls in the 12th house counted by longitude from the lagna degree.)
  • He is the dispositor of the bādhaka lord Saturn, who is in the 11th (Pisces).
  • The 8th house (Sagittarius, Jupiter's sign) is powerful with a bunch of planets, the 6th lord Venus among them.
  • "He is the 8th lord, he is the dispositor of the 6th lord and the bādhaka lord. Jupiter is problematic."

Antardaśās

• Sun, running: okay, not bad.
• Moon, next: worse. In D30 Moon is the 3rd lord — a malefic — in the 6th house. In rāśi he is the bādhaka lord (9th lord of a fixed lagna), and he sits in the 8th from his own sign — maraṇa kāraka sthāna.

Saturn daśā, after Jupiter

• Saturn is the 3rd lord in rāśi, a functional malefic, and afflicted by Sun: Sun at 5°40', Saturn at 12°44' Virgo — reasonably far apart, not too far.
• In D30 he is the bādhaka lord. His daśā will not be great either.
• "This is not a chart of somebody very, very healthy. This is a reasonably unhealthy chart."

Mandi in lagna — toxins

• Mandi is in Scorpio lagna, very close to the lagna degree. That is an affliction.
• Mandi shows poisons. In lagna: the system has a lot of poison — toxins.
• Lagna lord Mars is in the 12th house with Venus. Nobody has a strong aspect on lagna, so go by the lagna and its lord: Scorpio, ruled by Mars — fiery. Pitta.
• Whatever the mother's surroundings were in pregnancy, the baby's blood and tissues have accumulated toxins. Microwaves, thermocol, plastics: a few molecules reaching the foetus can cause trouble.
• The Ayurvedic theory of rashes: a lot of kapha and a lot of impurities in the blood.

What to do for the body

• Gentle detoxification, and pitta reduction — though pitta is hard to reduce in a small baby; let her go through it.
• Oil massage. For rashes sesame oil is the usual recommendation, but in a pitta condition sesame is not good. Use a cooling oil: coconut oil is good for a pitta condition.

The long run

"Scorpio is a very evil sign and Mandi is very close to lagna in Scorpio." This is a chart with a standing vulnerability to toxicity, not only at birth.

"Some people, even if they are living a very highly chemical lifestyle, they are okay with it. Some people are very sensitive to it. This person is likely to be sensitive to that kind of lifestyle."

Stay away from unnecessary chemicals — in the neighbourhood, in the food — and live a very simple, organic kind of life.

Propitiation

• The lagna lord Mars is weak in the 12th and needs strengthening. For Mars: Hanumān or Narasimha.
• He is with Venus, and Mandi is in lagna. Mandi shows poisons, and for removing poisons the best is Narasimha.
• Narasimha mantra and the Narasimha bīja kṣrauṁ (kṣa, ra, au, ṁ) — "a poison-killing, poison-removing bīja". Keep the baby nearby and chant it; the parents or whoever can.
• A picture of Lakṣmī Narasimha in the baby's room, and Lakṣmī Narasimha ślokas such as the Lakṣmī Narasimha Karāvalamba Stotram of Śaṅkarācārya.

A spiritual chart

• Rāśi: lagna lord in the 12th house, with the 12th lord Venus; Ketu in the 8th — Rahu and Ketu on the 2nd–8th axis. The child is likely to be spiritual.
• Vimśāṁśa (D20, Capricorn lagna): 9th lord Mercury in the 12th, 8th lord Sun strong, yogakāraka Venus in the 2nd, Jupiter in the 10th. A reasonably spiritual chart.
• The parents can give spiritual saṁskāras from a young age.

Punya Chakra Rebirth Analysis

The question: the baby's grandmother died in late 2007. The baby's mother had almost no chance of bearing a child. On a priest's advice she gave a donation on the tithi of her late mother, and conceived within a year. The family wonders whether the grandmother has been reborn as this child.

"That can never be really confirmed or denied astrologically. We don't have any science behind it, but we will try to see if there is anything standing out."

Method

1. In a rebirth, the Puṇya Chakra (the chart of the moment of death) and the rāśi chart of the next birth show similarities. Some key combinations persist.
2. Take the 7th house of the Puṇya Chakra as lagna. The 7th is the last desire — what the soul is thinking of at the last moment. (Taught in an earlier class that was not recorded.)
3. From that lagna, note the influences that stand out.
4. Look for the same influences on the same houses of the new birth chart.

This case

• Puṇya Chakra lagna: Pisces. The 7th, Virgo, becomes lagna.
• From Virgo the 12th house stands out: Saturn, Moon and Ketu in it — the house of mokṣa.
• From Virgo the 3rd house holds Sun and Mercury.
• The child's chart (Scorpio lagna): no such influence on the 12th house. The nearest thing — Moon and Ketu are in trines from the 12th. On the 3rd house: Sun is in a trine to it, but there is no strong Mercury influence.
• Going house by house, no strong correlation.

Verdict: no ground to conclude that this is a rebirth. "It does not seem like that."

"If the blessings of a recently departed soul are there, if the soul really wanted a child to come in the family, it is possible that the soul can arrange for it."
